I often make visits to markets on weekends, but today was my first time visiting Columbia Road Flower market. The weather was perfect with clear blue skies and large bunches of beautiful fresh flowers were sold for unbelievable prices.
As I walked past several people walking back with huge bunches of flowers and plants, I noticed that many of them were young people, both males and females.
I kind of felt relieved to see that young people liked flowers, well at least took interest to them. Ok, who wouldn’t like flowers? I don’t know why but I don’t associate flowers with young people. And to see so many of them buying so many was pleasantly surprising.
The call-outs from the vendors and seeing the human-to-human interaction between them and the customers, surrounded by perfect damage free flowers was rather therapeutic.
Isn’t this a perfect Sunday?
