Emerge- private view- London design festival

London design festival officially just started yesterday, but I was lucky enough to be invited to Emerge exhibition’s private view by a friend  (Aki Makita) who’s exhibiting there (her work shown above).

The exhibition was held just further up brick lane at the Rich Mix gallery, and showcases works of fresh graphic design graduates. Being a small exhibition, the room soon got crowded and was filled with buzz. I hadn’t been in a creative social atmosphere for so long and it reminded me of how good it felt to produce and put something together with friends and fellow students (now graduates). I actually quite miss it.

Every work was different from another and it was quite difficult to fully understand the works without any or little description. Also on display were posters created by the graduates in response to Pentagram’s London Poster brief.

All in all I had a good night out, and I can’t wait to see the other events and exhibitions at the design festival.
