Walking in my mind exhibition

Taking advantage of the 2 for 1 voucher, I visited this summer’s hayward exhibition.

I particularly liked Chiharu Shiota’s room where her fragile garments were cradled in a web of black wool. I was in awe of how she had managed to create the huge web without getting trapped inside! And to think she has created other pieces of work using the same technique…

From a distance the web reminded of the net of hair you find at the bottom of the bath after a wash…yes slightly grotesque…but once inside I strangely forgot that and thought it was actually ‘beautiful’.

Yayoi Kusama’s iconic work displayed outside was a good point to take photos and it was great to relax with friends in the afternoon sunshine.

You can get the voucher from their website: http://walkinginmymind.southbankcentre.co.uk/flash/index/
